FAQ
Can I email you guys to ask you for a hint?
No. Well, you could. But we won’t give you a hint.
Why the delay in getting the answers?
We don’t want you to just click through to the answer after you think of an initial attack–we want you to actually TRY the puzzle. In order to delay your gratification and to get you to give the puzzle a shot, we email you the solution about a day after your request.
Well if you won’t show me the answer, how do I know if I’m right?
With every puzzle is a small text box where you can type and submit your answer. We’ll always tell you if you’ve submitted the correct answer, or are on the right track. We’ll always tell you if you’re wrong, too.
I have an idea for a puzzle and want to submit it. What should I do?
Make sure your puzzle complies with the rules. Eventually we’ll have a submission page. When you submit, ensure that your puzzle is in two parts: the puzzle itself that will get posted, and the solution. Both should be in PDF.
Wordpress sucks! Why don’t you write your own engine?
First, no it doesn’t. Second, We’re not interested in making running the site a full-time effort–we’d rather spend that time making puzzles. We just want whatever will be quickest for us to dispense puzzles. We’re actually very grateful to Wordpress, ComicPress, and ComicPress Manager for making this so easy.
Why don’t you open up comments or pings? I want to say how cool the puzzle is!
We don’t want to have to filter, approve, or censor our comments; we have real lives. In order to prevent people from ruining the puzzle for others by saying the answer or giving hints directly below the puzzle, we have disabled all forms of comments for all puzzles.
Where can I do more puzzles like these?
Honestly, we wish we knew, so that we could do puzzles like these. Part of the reason this site exists is because we couldn’t find puzzles of a similar nature.
If I wanted to email you, what address should I use?
You can reach us at everyone at insightrequired dot com.
